Cage for first ever rabbit! Tips, suggestions?

A plant-based litter that’s a clean and healthy option for your family, both furry and not-so-furry. The biodegradable wood fiber is sustainably sourced, responsibly rescued and works to naturally prevent enzymes from bonding with liquid and waste, halting ammonia odor before it even starts...

Cage for first ever rabbit! Tips, suggestions?

I respectfully disagree about the clumping litter. I have used it for years. I keep enough hay and different types of cuts available ALL the time, and tons of wood, and other chew toys, so I can't imagine a rabbit ingesting clumps of litter that they peed on. And mine is covered by a grate...

Cage for first ever rabbit! Tips, suggestions?

I have not read all the responses, so please forgive me if this has been addressed. You set up looks super. Lucky bunny. I would rethink the waterer though. Rabbits typically drink better from bowls. And more water is always better. I have a heavy crock bowl that is actually for a small...

Does he just like to mess with me???????

Thanks Preitler. It was just sort of strange, there was no way there was time for the meds to have kicked in before he started acting fine again. He is completely his old bratty self again. LOL. It did stress me out a bit for a few minutes though..................................

Does he just like to mess with me???????

Got up this morning and Dash had not finished his vegs from last night, or did he finish his pellets. Very unusual. I went in and sat with him and he was not looking uncomfortable but was a bit standoffish. Plenty of poop in the box. I did a dose of Gas X, he was still a bit aloof. Did a...

New rabbit rolled over on first day in new home.

OMG! He is adorable. I used to have an English spot cross that was named Jasper. He looks very content and relaxed 🥰

    Other hay option suggestions needed!

What brand is "dust extracted hay" ? I have never heard of it and really didn't come up with anything when I googled it. I do notice oat hay is less dusty, but no one likes it. The only thing mine pets (chinchilla, guinea pigs and rabbit) will eat is timothy (1st, 2nd and 3rd cuts) and...

Rehoming 9 year old bunny who has lost soul mate

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost a guinea pig to a dog attack years ago and it is so horrible. I still beat myself up. I think it is commendable of you to try to make your remaining rabbit happy by rehoming, that can't be easy. And great that you will take her back if it does not work...

Pain or pleasure in teeth grinding?

If you bunny is laying relaxed and grinding, she is happy. Painful grinding is very different. You would know. They normally do not want to be touched and will many times sit hunched up or just look uncomfortable.

My best friend Jasper died today

I am so very sorry for your loss. You should in no way be guilty. If he had tooth/mouth problems, you had to do what you did. Sometimes, horribly, things are out of our control and when we do the right thing, it doesn't always end up happily. Especially with the little animals. Please stop...

Encouraging more exercise in indoor rabbits

I am reading this thread with interest. Dash does not seem to enjoy free roaming. I have tried a number of things. If I "chase" him, he grunts, stamps and runs under something and will not come out. I try laying still on the floor, he ignores me, I try laying on the sofa, hoping he will come...

    hello! :)

Aww, she is adorable. She resembles my guy, Dash. This is him at 5 months when I first adopted him. I commend you for adopting your next bunny!! Wonderful she is spayed too. That is certainly going to make bonding safer.

Abby was spayed today, so far, so good

I am relieved she is starting to feel better. That is wonderful for both of you. Please keep us updated on what transpires when you speak to the vet about this horrible incident. I hope they really take this seriously and make some necessary changes to their protocol.

Is she doing better? This is so upsetting. I can't imagine how upset and frustrated you are. Best wishes to you both

I’m getting a baby chick is this decision stupid?

I agree, it will be quite a while before the roosters have to be separated. And, yes, MayBae, you can't always depend on the place they were bought from to properly sex them. Sometimes having roosters works out, but many times it does not. If someone lives in a neighborhood, it can cause...

I’m getting a baby chick is this decision stupid?

PLEASE go to the Backyard Chickens website and get on the forum asap. I hope this ends well for the chicks. Are these chicks sexed? What happens if you ended up with two roosters?
