Was the bun laying by the side of the cage? I know raccoons will reach into pheasant cages to try to pull them out thru the slits. Any fur attached to the side of the cage? I am so sorry for you loss. I’d be totally heartbroken.

He has all he can eat orchard and Timothy hay all day, every day. Maybe his teeth are bothering him? I’d be afraid to limit his pellets and/or veggies(to get him to eat more hay). Most likely will take him to see the vet in the next week.

Have you tried some Romaine or Collard greens? My boy is very picky as well but likes both of those a lot. Also, was he in a pair when you adopted him? Did you get any background on him when you adopted him?
