Desperate for Help - Made a Terrible Mistake (Very Long)

Thank you for all of your suggestions! I've put a phone book in and that has calmed her down. She had a lot of toys to chew and nibble on already, but I'd never given her a book because I think I'd read somewhere about ink being toxic. She had paper from a pad but she was just working her way...

Desperate for Help - Made a Terrible Mistake (Very Long)

Thank you! That's definitely something I'd be able to consider. I would absolutely pay everything for her, so I will speak to my husband about this and it may be the route we take. All I want is for her to be happy, so I will do whatever it takes, but if there's a way to make this happen...

Desperate for Help - Made a Terrible Mistake (Very Long)

Unfortunately I still can't trust her not to go for the furniture downstairs if she's left to roam free constantly. She still needs constant supervision, wherever she is. There isn't a lot that she could destroy (just the sofas and TV stand), but she'd definitely go for skirting boards and door...

Desperate for Help - Made a Terrible Mistake (Very Long)

Thanks for your reply. She does have a large x-pen, but unfortunately if I let her out of that then I'm having to chase her around to make sure that she doesn't nibble on furniture. She lives in our home office (there's no space for her pen in any other room) and I have a large wooden desk in...

Desperate for Help - Made a Terrible Mistake (Very Long)

I haven't been on here in a few months, and I hate to come back in this situation, but I really need some help. This is Codi: Codi has been in my life only since January. She's an absolutely wonderful rabbit. I purchased her as a house rabbit - I only got the one as my intention was to...

    Escaped Rabbit: A (Long) Rant

Thanks for your replies, everyone. I wasn't able to relax last night so I locked her away in her little cage, just for the night, whilst I tried to think what to do. We have a garden pen with a roof, as well, so we've traded her old pen for this. The hope is that the weight of the roof...

    Escaped Rabbit: A (Long) Rant

So, Codi had her spay recently. She was confined afterwards so that she couldn't move around too much. This past Sunday we set up her pen again, but we're still not letting her free roam. Of course, she had other ideas. She's been biting at the pen like a mad rabbit over the past few days...

    Best outdoor playpen??

I use one of these: Like Bville, I worry about predators and so it had to be one with the roof. No hawks around here, but a few birds that would try their luck and the next door neighbour has three cats.

    Post-Spay Issues (Long)

Yes. She got the Metacam again, but they said they avoided the injected ones because she was sitting and cleaning herself, not grinding her teeth. I left her alone overnight last night because I was confident that she was eating and this morning I've found that she's worked her way through...

    Codi

I purchased Codi on 26th Jan 2014, from a local pet shop. She's my first rabbit, so I didn't feel confident enough to go to a rescue and try to fulfill all of their criteria. The pet shop couldn't tell me anything about her, other than that she was a female and hadn't been spayed or vaccinated...

    Bunny buddies

Sharing lunch: These two are 'cautious' friends. Emrys (tortoise) wants to be with Codi constantly and is always trying to get her attention. Codi has only happily spent time with him twice - once for just a few minutes, once for the shared lunch. They've also been together two other times...

    Unique rabbits

I'm sure it's not unique, but my favourite thing about Codi is her love of a very specific brand of pellets. If she sees you going near the bag she's up on two legs begging with an 'I'm starving...nobody's fed me all week, honest!' look: I stopped feeding them to her normally a while ago...

    Post-Spay Issues (Long)

Thank you all for your replies. Well, she spent the day with the vet who in the end said that she hadn't given her the stronger pain killers as she was showing no signs of pain when she was there. The vet managed to get some food into her through the syringe - even she said not a lot today due...

    Post-Spay Issues (Long)

Update: Codi has gone back to the vet for the day for emergency treatment and monitoring. I'll hear back today if I can collect her this evening. She's been refusing all food and water so I just took her back because I think she needs to be in the care of professionals. She'll be given stronger...

    Post-Spay Issues (Long)

Hi everyone. Coming on for a bit of advice. Codi was spayed yesterday (midday GMT). I was told I'd be able to collect at about 6pm, but to call at 4pm to see how she was doing. When I called at 4pm they said that she was eating well when fed through a syringe and was recovering nicely, so...

    2014 Cages You've Made

Just replied to your PM, then saw your posts here! Yes, also a Hermann's. I do have a Tortoise Forum account but haven't been on in at least half a year. I kept being too busy to check back, and as it's such a busy forum I find it hard to get involved and catch up! It was so valuable to me...

    Litter box, What litter box?

I am having the same problem with Codi. She was fine when I got her a couple of weeks ago, and only went to the toilet in her cage, but very quickly got comfortable and now goes to the toilet wherever she likes. No pattern to it, no aiming for a corner, just anywhere, so I know how frustrating...

Does anyone own a bun thats not fixed?

Codi isn't spayed yet. Got her about 1.5 weeks ago. She's booked in to be spayed at the start of March. The idea of putting her through that scares me, but not as much as the thought of her getting cancer at a young age. If there are any behavioural benefits, that would be even better, but...
