I am cleaning Luv twice daily with a mild soap with paper towels. I even gave her a partial bath. I can't seem to get her clean. Is there a product that I can get to help keep her clean and comfortable. Other then her being messy she seems fine.

I really need some honest opionions about Luv. Its been over a week since she lost her use of her back legs. Her stance makes me beleive she is having a hard time adjusting to using the front paws. She is only eating celerly, carrots, and some hay. Drinking tons and tons of water. Much more than normal.

She can't control her peeing. She is really messing, so matter how much I can her? I can't afford to take her to the vet, I feel really bad about it. I won't be adding any more animals to my household cause I just can't afford care past the normal stuff.

Should I have her put to sleep? I can't say for sure if she is suffering or not.. Her backend if she has any feelings has to be really irrated from the peeing. I am really depressed. I wish Luv could speak to me and tell me what she wants. Again she is about 7 yrs old so not totally young or old. One thing is that she seems a little differnt.. Actully licking me. I don't recall her ever licking me.

Sorry this is so long.. Just really confused right now.

Do you know why she isn't controlling her bladder? Did it come when her back legs stopped working?

I'd just maybe keep her as clean as possible, and everything within reach. Maybe also try putting a towel down as well? I don't know about putting her to sleep. She seems ok if she's still eating. Rabbits usually show they are in pain/distressed by their appetite, so if her appetite is okshe can't be in that much distress.Maybe also try giving her a bit of alfalfa hay if she's not eating any pellets to keep her protien intake up.

I can't tell you if you should put her to sleep or not, you have to listen to your heart.

I noticed her not being able to control her peeing as soon as the legs went out. She don't play with toys anymore. Just chews the cardboard I put in there for her.

I will keep trying to help her the best I can. I feel bad for her.

I havent been able to take her to a vet. I just don't have the money. I feel really bad about it.

Thanks to everyone who has been following this thread and giving advice and offering suport. Sadly to say I think Luv has suffered enough. When I was cleaning her today, I found worms on her.. I am guessing maggots. If I can find the strenght her life with me is done. I found a vet that can help me for only 25 and if I take care of her body. I feel really bad but that is the best I can do for her. Its time for her to cross the Rainbow bridge. Oddly her real name was Rainbow but my son Tyler named her Luv before we even adopted her cause he wanted more Luv after losing my first bunny many years ago. My best guess is that Luv is 7 years old. So not young and not too old. It was great while it lasted. :(So sad right now. I got to do it. too keep her alive would be selfish on my part. I hopeshe can forgive me.

Again thanks for all the suport and advice. It means a lot to me.

:bigtears:I'm so sorry. She knows you love her and you have to do what you think is best for her.

Sending prayers your way.

Cristy, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know it must be really hard for you.

Luv is really lucky to have you and she knows you love her andare doing everything you canto help her.

Oh Cristy, so sorry, I wish I could have been more help. It's so sad.:cry2It does sound like you're making the right decision. Even Luv licking you probably means she's stressed and in pain.

I just really hope your situation improves and you do add another little bunny to your household, because you really arean awesome, caringbunny mom. :hug1

sas :(and the warren :(:(:(:(:(

I am sure Luv had a wonderful life with you.
It is regrettably sad that all things must come to an end, but she knew you did the best for her.

Rainbows! :pink iris:

Oh Cristy ,

I think you are right. Luv had a wonderful long time here, and it's her time to hop over to rainbow bridge. It must be so hard, but listen to you're heart.

I'll be thinking of you, your family, and Luv.

Thanks everyone your suport means a lot to me.. The appointment is set for 4 30 pm. Just about a hour and half away.. She is spending her last little bit of time sitting on the love seat on my sweater. It hurts to do the right thing.

Hi Cristy

I'm so sorry that you're going through this.

From what you posted above, it kind of sounds like Luv understands and appreciates what you have done for her...and that it's okay to let her go now.

Buck will take good care of her until you see her again.

Binkie free Luv!!:pray::rainbow::jumpingbunny:

You are making the right decision! She will be hopping and binkying again! You did a great job with her and gave her a loving home. She was very lucky to have you!

Binky free, Luv!!!

Thanks for the suport. Luv's last hours was spent laying around on the couch and before the car ride I let her lay in the grass and she ate some of it.. She was only afraid in the car. She gave me one last laugh when she bit the paper I had to sign for the vet to put her to sleep. Tore a corner right off of it. The vet said they couldnt allow me to go with her. My best friend Tad and I brought her home and buried her in the feilds where I live.. It was a very sad day yesterday for myself and my boys. I feel like what I did was right but still sad that she had to cross the bridge. I know Buck is watching out for her.

I still have one more bunny. His name is Roger. I have made a decision not to get any more pets, cause I just have too many, plus it hurts really bad when they have to leave us. :bigtears:
