I have a neutered male Flemish giant who I've had for well over a year now and was debating on getting him a friend. There is a female lop available who is around 4 months old and hasn't been fixed yet.
Do I need to get her fixed before introducing them? Everything I read says to make sure they...
Awesome! I will have to try that kind of brush. The one I have been using is a thin wire brush which seems to work alright. I was wondering if anyone had tried the furminator brush on their rabbit? I've always been tempted to buy one and try it...
Exactly! I went out and bought a hand held vacuum specifically for Woody's pen and use it about every other day! Hair everywhere it's crazy. What kind of brush do you use?
I can't say for sure I guess because it's the only litter I've tried but it sure seems to help with urine odor, gives off a pine smell and the pellets absorb the urine really well.
Does anyone else have issues with shedding? My male Flemish Giant is a year old and has been shedding non stop for the last couple months. The previous several months I've had him it was a pretty normal cycle, he would shed for a week or 2 every month and a half or so but now it's just...
Woody has been fixed for over 3 weeks now. He instantly stopped leaving droppings everywhere and would say 95% goes in the litter box....crazy how that works!
My 9 month old flemish giant is kept in a large pen in the corner of a room...I came home from work and the pen was literally moved a couple feet away from the wall, his big Rubbermaid litter box (heavy) was pushed out of the corner where it was and both doors in the front of the pen were opened...
For litter I've been using this stuff called Cozy n Fresh I believe. I get it at TSC. I think it's pine pellets and they absorb the urine really well. Not to mention it's only like $6 for a 20 lb bag which is really nice considering how much I use having a flemish giant!
Doesn't phase me at all anymore to pick up the dry odorless droppings either!
Another strange thing I forgot to mention is that when I let him out of his pen when he hasn't been out in a few days I rarely find any poops...but if I let him out that same day again or even the very next day, THATS...
I have a question for those of you who have free range rabbits. Will you find droppings around the house from time to time? I have my flemish giant housed in a big pen in the corner of a room. He is litter box trained for peeing but I have to pick up tons of droppings around his pen once or...
