    Adding a new rabbit

I have a neutered male Flemish giant who I've had for well over a year now and was debating on getting him a friend. There is a female lop available who is around 4 months old and hasn't been fixed yet. Do I need to get her fixed before introducing them? Everything I read says to make sure they...

    Shedding

32 buns!? My one is a handful, I can't even imagine how much hair you have to deal with!

    Shedding

Awesome! I will have to try that kind of brush. The one I have been using is a thin wire brush which seems to work alright. I was wondering if anyone had tried the furminator brush on their rabbit? I've always been tempted to buy one and try it...

    Shedding

Exactly! I went out and bought a hand held vacuum specifically for Woody's pen and use it about every other day! Hair everywhere it's crazy. What kind of brush do you use?

    Rabbit Litter

I can't say for sure I guess because it's the only litter I've tried but it sure seems to help with urine odor, gives off a pine smell and the pellets absorb the urine really well.

    Rabbit Litter

I use rabbit litter called Cozy 'n Fresh, it's natural pine pellets and they absorb really really well. Only $4.99 for a 20 lb bag at TSC!

    Shedding

Does anyone else have issues with shedding? My male Flemish Giant is a year old and has been shedding non stop for the last couple months. The previous several months I've had him it was a pretty normal cycle, he would shed for a week or 2 every month and a half or so but now it's just...

    Thanks! We are too!

    Free Range

Woody has been fixed for over 3 weeks now. He instantly stopped leaving droppings everywhere and would say 95% goes in the litter box....crazy how that works!

Bun running circles around me grunting?

My 9 month old male does this too! And usually drops little presents in the process haha...he will be getting fixed this month

    Weird behavior?

My 9 month old flemish giant is kept in a large pen in the corner of a room...I came home from work and the pen was literally moved a couple feet away from the wall, his big Rubbermaid litter box (heavy) was pushed out of the corner where it was and both doors in the front of the pen were opened...

    Free Range

For litter I've been using this stuff called Cozy n Fresh I believe. I get it at TSC. I think it's pine pellets and they absorb the urine really well. Not to mention it's only like $6 for a 20 lb bag which is really nice considering how much I use having a flemish giant!

    Free Range

Doesn't phase me at all anymore to pick up the dry odorless droppings either! Another strange thing I forgot to mention is that when I let him out of his pen when he hasn't been out in a few days I rarely find any poops...but if I let him out that same day again or even the very next day, THATS...

    Free Range

I have a question for those of you who have free range rabbits. Will you find droppings around the house from time to time? I have my flemish giant housed in a big pen in the corner of a room. He is litter box trained for peeing but I have to pick up tons of droppings around his pen once or...

    Bonding Large and Small Breeds

Thanks for all the help! I'll look into it and get my boy fixed so I can get him a companion!

    Bonding Large and Small Breeds

I am in far eastern Montana on the North Dakota border.

    Bonding Large and Small Breeds

I'm hoping it's as easy to bond him with another bunny as it was to bond him with my dog and cat....that wasn't any work at all, he loves the dog and cat and doesn't mind when they go in his pen and visit him.

    Bonding Large and Small Breeds

Thanks for the info! I will get Woody neutered and wait a few weeks before I get another. The only issue is that we don't have any rabbit rescues nearby that I'm aware of so I might just have to wait until I have another opportunity to buy one and take a chance that they will like each other.

    Bonding Large and Small Breeds

I have an 8 month old male Flemish Giant and was wondering if it would be ok to get him a little friend. He lives in s fairly large pen and I just don't think there would be enough room for 2 Flemish Giants but I still think he would enjoy having some company when I'm not there. I was looking...
