They are two and a half weeks old and are able to get out of the nest. Everyone was fine and running around when the family and I left to go to dinner at 630 and when we returned at 10 one of the babies was just laying on the bottom of the cage. My son picked it up and said he thought it was...
The babies are eight days old today. Out of the ten kits Dottie had I have 8 fat healthy babies that I am madly in love with. It's going to be awfully hard to let them go in 7 wks.
I got mine from Target. They are now called like REorganize or something like that but the ones other the silver ones have grids that have bigger spacing and the bunnies can fit their heads through which isn't safe.
I just got back from the vet. I had the baby put to sleep. The vet said it was a birth defect where the skull didn't form properly and that the baby would of slowly and painfully faded away.
They are mixed breed. The parents weigh around 9 lbs. Its head isn't just large its soft on top none of the other babies heads feel that way. It also looks even larger this morning then it did last night. Heres a group shot from the 20th.
I did some searching on the web and what Ive found makes me think it may be Encephalitozoon. What do you guys think? I'm so worried they are all going to get sick.
I just took out the babies and looked them over indiviually which I hadn't done in a few days and the smallest ones head is swollen and it feels like there is fluid in it. I'm going to call the vet first thing in the morning but does anyone have an idea what it could be? I'm so upset right now...

I really hope to if I can convince my husband. He thinks the 3 we have are enough but really whats one more? or two.:biggrin2:
Ive only see her in the nest box at night and morning but I'm gone at work 7 hours a day so she could be when I'm gone and I not know it. What about giving her some avacado? Can rabbits have avacado?
She's eating all right. She emptied her feeder in 2 days when it normally last about 4 daysand her water intake has doubled I'd bet. She eats the carrots out of my hand and her veggie bowl is alway empty.
