Yes so in the morning I usually fill her bowl when she’s out of the cage. She runs towards my feet aggressively as I do this. I’ve managed to train her to go upstairs before I put her bowl in so that she doesn’t attack my hand. It seems like she associates aggression with food. :(
My rabbit runs at me in a lunging manner at feeding time in the morning. I’m concerned this is now a learned behaviour and she feels the need to run and lunge at me every time food is available.
She’s 3 and spayed. Can this be unlearned?
Is it too late?
I’ve been trying to teach her to high...
I have a lovely 3 year old rabbit who has been spayed. She can be quite aggressive and her behaviour is temperamental. I have tried lots of different things.
A vet mentioned I could buy another rabbit for companionship and that this may settle her.
I read that a make is best to pair her...
She is nearly 3 years old and is spayed- still has a very sassy personality.
Thank you they are all good points. There is a definite link between my friends dogs and her reaction. I get it every time. However I do know others that have dogs which don’t seem to bother her so much.
I have a close friend with two dogs. When I visit her house and return home, my rabbit runs off and stomps her foot multiple times. She doesn’t seem pleased at all and won’t go near me.
I had my mum over today who had just come from a house with a dog and she was extremely aggressive towards...
I own an indoor rabbit who has recently moved with us from a very warm flat to a much cooler house. Her cage is placed in the coolest part of my house which has been extended.
How do I know if she’s too cold over night? It is winter now and temperatures are regularly getting to freezing most...
This may sound odd. I live with my rabbit and my partner. When my partner is here my rabbit seems relaxed and spends a lot of time licking my partner- she also loves lots of strokes from him.
When he works away (and only in the evening)she is on edge, jumpy, jumping at normal noises and can be...
Hi everyone.
The weather has been much hotter than usual (approx28-30degrees centigrade) for the last few weeks.
Last night my rabbit’s heart started beating really fast. She would constantly lie down then stand back up again (seemed uncomfortable). She wouldn’t eat anything- not even a...
She can be quite aggressive and territorial. She will often lunge if you walk past her and has on occasion put her teeth on my hand (not enough to really hurt or break skin).
She is also friendly (when she wants to be) and will seek out affection.
She does seem to be grooming more than...
Thanks for your reply.
I took her to get spayed myself- although her litter box use improved greatly not much else did (I expected her behaviour to mellow out which it certainly didn’t).
I have a 2 year old spayed netherland dwarf. I have noticed she is pulling her fur out between chin and front legs ( toward the bottom). I can see bare skin- which seems healthy and is not scaly, red or irritated. Why is she doing this?
Thank you. That’s really interesting. I have done lots of online reading but not read that before. She also lunges when I walk past her- I assume this is to be ignored too?
Hi all
I have a spayed Netherland dwarf who is very vocal. She ‘grunts’ quite a lot- particularly if you pick her up as she doesn’t like it. She even grunts first thing in the morning as if to say ‘let me out’. She can be quite aggressive and will sometimes grunt and scratch it I stop stroking...
Thanks for the response. That's really interesting, I haven't heard of that before.
Any behavioural support and ideas would be greatly appreciated. I know it probably doesn't help that I move my hand every time she does it.
