    Bunny is peeing on me

My bunny, Dopey, recently started peeing on my husband and I (more so on me) and on our couch. This is way out of his character!?! He was recently treated for urine scalding. I spoke with his vet about a week ago about the peeing and she put him on oral antibiotics. But now I'm wondering if he...

Do rabbits and kittens get along?

Hi All, I wanted to know if rabbits and kittens get a long? And if so, how would I go about introducing them to each other? Without one or the other feeling threatened or scared.... I want to make sure they get a long. Is there any way to ensure they "kick it off" right? I ask because we are...

Are Christmas trees safe for rabbits?

Hi All, We just got our Christmas tree and I'm not sure if it's safe for our rabbit, Dopey, to be around? I'm not sure if he can eat the pine needles from a Douglas Fur? Right now I'm being very cautious about it. I convinced my husband to get a small tree this year and we've placed it...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

Dopey seems to be back to normal. He is eating a lot of hay, his pellets, and his veggies. He is pooping and peeing like normal. I don't think he is drinking water of of his bottle, but I have placed a water bowl in his cage, which he is drinking out of. He is sleeping comfortably, he is alert...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

Okay, so I called the vet this morning and spoke with his assitant. According to her, this has always been the treatment the doctor has presribed for "blocked" rabbits and never has any of their had a gut rupture from the medication. But I'm still stuck, I don't know what to do. I trust your...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

Oh I forgot to mention, the doctor prescribed the Laxatone for 5 days, 2 ml twice a day. And the Metoclopramide for 3 - 5 days, 0.4 ml three times a day. He also said he's seen other rabbits with this condition and they have all recovered fine. I'm just paranoid now, as usual any tips or...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

New concern... the doctor said after reviewing Dope's xray, he has motility. The doctor also gave me a tube of Laxatone to give to Dopey twice a day, and Metoclopramide to give to him three times a day. But after reading some of your posts, after I posted Dopey's update I'm concerened about the...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

Dopey is back from the vet's and I'm happy to say he is okay now. The doctor took xrays and said he had mortility (I think that was the word). He said that basically Dopey was "plugged up." They gave him fluids, and a medicine called Laxatone... after they administered it, they said he pooped a...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

Dopey has no other sysmptons, there is no blood in his urine, no injuries, no lumps, no molting. I did notice, when I had him out and he was laying down, he kept moving around changing positions until I layed next to him, he stayed still. So, I will try rubbing his tummy, but I don't hear it...

Need advice, Dopey is not eating & hasn't pooped in 5 hours

Help, I need advice! Maybe I am overreacting, but Dopey has not eaten in the past 5 hours. When I got home, he ate his pellets... but normally around this time he eats his vegetables. I tried giving him his favorite, apples, but he wouldn't even take it. He also has not pooped in the last 5...

    Advice: Dopey's Stitches Came Out

Thanks for the tip! Maybe I will try the sock thing... but I have a feeling that he will attempt to pull it off, plus it might be hard to get it on him. We'll see, I'll try it when I get home from work.

    Advice: Dopey's Stitches Came Out

Dopey actually pulled out his other set of stitches last night... that one seems to be more closed that the other one. He seems to be okay though, he's acting like himself... it dosen't seem to be bothering him. But as always, I'm still worried about him. And yes my avatar is Dopey.

    Advice: Dopey's Stitches Came Out

Dopey was neutered last Wednessday 10/30... supposed to get his stitches out this Saturday 11/8. Well when I got home from work today I discovered a set of his stitches came out. He's not bleeding, there is no "hole", but at the same time it's not completely healed/closed up... it's a little red...

Dopey just neutered how do I stop him from licking stitches?

Dopey is not on any pain killers, the doctor didn't say anything about it. I even asked about him licking the stitches and they said there is no e collar... and that I have to check his stitches 2 x a day. If it gets dirty I have to clean it or if it comes undone I have to take him in again.
