Sorry if this is in the wrong section folks. My husband bought me a mini lop as a surprise a couple of weeks ago. He bought him from a farmer who apparently has lots of rabbits that he breeds (not an ideal person to buy off). I am guessing he is anywhere from 8-10 weeks old. I have noticed that...
Cat scratches can be fatal to bunnys (I even get reactions from them myself- swelling and major itchyness) so it's no surprise the one with the scratch died. The 2 survivors are looking very cute, good on you for taking them in and feeding them :)
Hi Kizza! So sorry for the late reply, I missed your post. Where in Sydney is Porche's Rescue? I will have to give this bun away as he will become a bigger bunny than I can handle (we have hutches suitable for mini lop sized bunnys only). I was thinking of either giving him/her to the RSPCA or...
Aww, thank you!
I am definately going to try making the EEK sound and pushing his head down! So glad you mentioned that. He is warming up to me much better now! he hops onto my lap every time I open his hutch :D
Now.. I need a name for him lol, anyone have any suggestions?
Another question.. I opened bunnys hutch and he hopped onto my lap after a few minutes (yay!) so I placed him on the lounge with me while I quietly watched TV. He was licking my hand for at least 20 minutes, he would also stop in between to clean himself so i'm assuming thats what he was trying...
Thank you! Do you think at 8 weeks old he was too young to leave his mother? I am not certain of his exact age as he came from a farmer with over 50+ rabbits, he was from one of the latest litters. I think he could be anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks of age.
Can someone please translate this bunny language for me .. i'm not sure if this bun likes me, or hates me :sigh:
This particular bunny is young, approx 8 weeks, and has not had much human interaction. When I approach his hutch his cowers into his sheltered sleeping end away from me...
Hello! Just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what the technical/official name for my new bunnys coat colour is? I've tried googling around, the closest I could find would be some kind of seal point? (forgive me if I am wrong lol)
Also, what kind of breed does he/she look to be...
Thanks for the sweet replies :hearts
I'm feeling a bit better today so I have snapped a couple of pictures for everyone to see.. he or she is slowly transforming into a much happier bunny :)
I've given bunny alfafa based pellets made specifically for young rabbits and also meadow hay.. his/her poo is looking way better, and he/she is also drinking lots of water :) So far so good! I've become violently ill overnight and today, so I think its destiny that I ended up catching her the...
Well the good news is that he/she is nibbling on hay, but still not interested in water or pellets. I've tried soaking a pellet in water and seeing if that might get her going but no luck. She looks an OK weight in the pictures, but I have a feeling most of that is because of her fluffy fur...
So, if anyone remembers me I had previously found my bunny Sugar on the road next to my house.
To make a long story short, about 4 days ago my husband spotted ANOTHER rabbit on our street. She was ducking and diving under parked cars and into front yards. I tried to catch her with a humane...
I guess i'll just have to wait it out and see for myself as she grows. Thank you for all the sweet comments. I've decided to name her sugar because of her sweet personality. Thanks again everyone :D
