Nyx has recently learned to escape from her pen. We previously had a playpen around her 'baby cage' (like this only bigger), but apparently she's been training for hurdles when we weren't noticing, because she can now hop over the fence in a single jump. It's really quite amazing, considering...

Good point. I've kept the window open and it seems to me that most of the smell has gone away... or, maybe I'm just used to it. =P But Nyx seems to be very happy with the extra room, so I think I'll leave it unless she acts bothered.

We moved the bun into a carpeted room today, and put down a new (but cheap) piece of carpet to cover the original carpet. The only problem is, it is new and it's kinda smelly... I know rabbits have sensitive respiratory systems; will this affect Nyx at all? Any experience with rabbits and new...

The skin underneath seems perfectly healthy; she could possibly be rubbing her head on things but I've never caught her do it. As for the matted fur, it looks like the fuzzier fur that grows close to her body without any of the soft fur on top. Does that make sense? =P I was a little worried...

Nyx is a 5-month lop/dwarf mix. A week ago I noticed a spot on her head where the fur was matted and almost looked like it was balding. I thought she might be moulting but the spot hasn't moved. Here's a picture (sorry it's a bit blurry but she wouldn't hold still!) =) Nyx lives by herself so...
