thanks whisky, that's so sweet. and i love your bun pic btw, looks absolutely adorable! i think i'm going to try and move house to somewhere with a garden, or at least a little outside space. i really enjoyed having a house rabbit, he was good and actually smelled great most of the time but i...

    Will it ever be time...?

thanks guys for all your kind words. the main reason I asked was I went to a rescue centre at the weekend and found a little girl bun, only a year old and she reminded me of my little guy, she was curious and ran to the bars to say hello and I was so cut up afterwards I wasn't sure what to do. I...

    Will it ever be time...?

Bit of a morbid post but thought all the bunny lovers out there might be able to help. I lost my first bun after eight and a half years of great health to a tumor in January. He was my first proper pet and I'm still totally cut up about it I probably have a bit of a sniffle every two weeks or...

    Abscess and Penicillin - RIP

Hi all, just a quick thank you for your help, we took Hutch to the top UK rabbit lady who started surgery and found it was a huge tumour behind his eye, not retrievable and very aggressive. We chose to put him to sleep rather than have him wake up and decline rapidly. He had a great life and was...

    Abscess and Penicillin - RIP

its been 7 days on the penicillin and no change, if anything his exopthalmos is worse, almost to the degree where he can't close his eye, I think surgery is the only option or the black rabbit might come for him :_(

    Cleaning ears....

same here JBun, my lop is 8 and i've never cleaned his ears and never had them checked at the vets until recently. most lops are very affectionate and will enjoy being touched/stroked/groomed so i just incorporate a quick ear check into that, mostly just involves running a clean thumb across the...

    Sneezing more often, no discharge?

keep an eye on his eyes too. sometimes if their tearducts get blocked up because of tooth problems the excess tears can drain into their nasal passage and tickle making them sneeze. could be nothing but as an equally overprotective mum i know the feeling!

    Abscess and Penicillin - RIP

So I posted previously about my baby's (possibly not - he's 8!) eye problems which turned out to be a retrobulbar abscess. He's been put on injectable penicillin subcutaneously once a day and has so far had 3 injections and I realise I am being impatient but I was wondering whether anyone had...

    Really bad eye

having exactly the same problems with my little boy, started off runny and then the nictitating membrane (third eyelid) started to show and go red. had the same as you, first vet said it was an infection and gave me eye drops but a week later it was worse. took him for a second opinion at a...

    eye problems...

Hi all, Just left bun at the vets and am not coping well. He's eight and a half so an old boy but he's never been to the vets apart from his castration, he's just never had any problems. His left eye is protruding and they're thinking abcess or tumor. I was wondering whether anyone had any...
