eye problems...

Hi all,
Just left bun at the vets and am not coping well. He's eight and a half so an old boy but he's never been to the vets apart from his castration, he's just never had any problems. His left eye is protruding and they're thinking abcess or tumor. I was wondering whether anyone had any experience with these and knew what the prognosis might be - am quite worried about the little fella.

I'm so sorry about your bun not being well. It depends a lot on what the vet finds and it's severity, but if an abscess, these things can sometimes be treated successfully. RO member kmaben, has a rabbit that got a scratch on it's eye that ended up having to be removed. I can't remember the details exactly, or if the eye was bulging or not, but I know that she had her buns eye removed successfully, and the bun is doing just fine today. More details of what happened are in her blog if you want to look. I really hope your vet is able to help your little bun and that he will end up being ok.
