My two bunnies think chewing on sticks is the best thing. My parents live in an apple orchard, so they occasionally get a box of freshly cut up apple wood, but given the rate they chew we would need 100 acres to sustain their habit. What other types of wood are safe for bunnies to chew on?
My bunny Linus is normally very well behaved. That is, he was until this last week. He's taken to jumping onto my bed and peeing and pooping everywhere whenever I leave the room. He's neutered, litter box trained,
For a bit of background, he learned how to jump into my bed three weeks ago...
My landlord won't allow rabbits (not that it's stopped me). He has an enormous dog and all of the other tenants have multiple pets, but for some reason he hates rabbits. Linus has very few accidents and done significantly less damage to the apartment than my human roommmates. I'm currently...
Adorable... Linus is also addicted to bananas. A few weeks ago I'd eaten one and left the peel on my bed. I left the room for five minutes and when I came back he was dragging it back in to his cage.
Today when I was grooming Linus I found a scab about the size of a dime on his back. It wasn't there last week, but he lives in an environment where I have little to no idea where he got it. We're going to the vet next week... should I try to schedule an appointment for before then, or is there...
Thanks for all the advice. Smooshing it up in some banana worked well yesterday, but I'll try Flick's technique today. And if all else fails, I'll call my vet and beg for pills.
Linus loves toes. Whenever I take my shoes and socks off he runs right up to my toes and sniffs them. Occasionally he tries to take a nibble, but I try to dissuade him (mostly by squealing in surprise). Silly bunny.
My bunny Linus was given a prescription for Valbazen for E. Cuniculi. I'm supposed to give him the medication twice a day, but I'm having a hard time catching him to get him to eat it. Is there any way I can sneak it into a treat, like some cooked mashed carrots? Any recommendations for giving a...
I cut a hole in the side of a cardboard box and then filled with cardboard. Linus loves digging at the newspaper (especially when I stash a treat in the back of the box), and all I have to do to start the fun over again is put the newspaper back in!
He also really, really loves chewing on...
My bunny Linus is obsessed with getting underneath my bed. I've built a series of cardboard barriers which he has subsequently chewed through, and once he is in what I have taken to calling "The Fortress of Doom," he is nearly impossible to get out. I'd like to build a sturdier barrier, but I'm...
My bunny Linus is starting to shed a bit, but whenever I try to brush him he scampers away or nips at my toes. Getting him to let me brush him requires heavy amounts of bribery (and a little coercion), and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on training him to enjoy being brushed.
Thanks!
Thanks! Linus is doing much better now. I was hoping that would be the case, but it's definitely nice to have my fears assuaged by more experienced rabbit owners!
I babysit for a pair of very inquisitive four year old twins. Last time I saw them they'd just learned about units of measurement. For fun we measured how tall they are with a yardstick, which led Maddie to claim that she was "one kilogram" taller than Riley.
I live in an apartment with two roommates. The bunny lives in my room where my landlord won't find out about him (the man has three horrible smelly dogs but for some reason decided I can't keep a rabbit).
