What Color is the Buck & Expected kit colors?

Hi there! So I breed American chinchillas and just for the sake of having a meat litter that is a bit different, we're breeding to a Rex buck in hop we get some interesting colored kits, rather then having them look all the same... Anyways, my friend has a buck and I can't tell if he is a...

    Dark Green Nasal Discharge?

I have a doe and kits and the kits seem to have this green nasal discharge... Should I be concerned? I know it isn't normal and I'm contemplating treating them with my VetRx (http://livestockconcepts.com/en/orals/2289-vet-rx-rabbit.html). Should I? Or should I do something else? Please help!

    Shipping a Rabbit

First let me apologize if this is miscategorized, but I figured proper shipment fell under "wellness". Anyways, I have had several people contact me about shipping rabbits to them. I live in CT, and the locations haven't been to far: Michigan, Maine, Virginia etc.. I am not quite sure how...

    New rabbit with sore hocks

Sore hocks suck :( But, on the bright side his aren't open wounds. We had two cases of sore hocks at my rabbitry, one with and one without open wounds. Unfortunately we lost the open wounds bun, however our other is doing fine. I would wrap his feet, if he is biting at them. And, if it...

Please Help Us - Abcess and Bone infection

Honestly, I'm happy for you being willing to spend that much money on your pet, but when it comes to bone infections, you are never going to get rid of it. If you have money to spare and are willing to you can continue the operations and what not, but I personally wouldn't. A few months ago I...

    Possible GI problem - Help!

Honestly, I don't think you need to go to the vet. As long as there is no liquid stool and she is using the bathroom I wouldn't be to worried. Its almost like she sees her cage as her litter box, and in that sense, you've litter trained her haha. As long as she isn't straining and all the...

How much time do you spend with your buns?

I definitely socialize my babies, but being in school and having other responsibilities I don't play with my adults as much as I would like especially in the winter. In the summer they go outside and they have a little run where they can eat grass and be rabbits. I just wish I had more free...

    Sudden loss of litter?

Thank you very much! I will pick some up this weekend and start all of my buns on it! Is it okay to treat if you have a nursing litter? I have one due tomorrow... Should I wait...? I was also planning a round of deworming, would you suggest I wait until after the litter was weaned for that?

    Biting and running

Well I would make sure HE is actually a HE, cause I have does that do that when their hormones go crazy and they are in heat. Neutering him is an option. As for the biting, give him stuff to chew on - sticks etc... anything that isn't your hands! Also give him a look over and make sure he isn't...
