    New to rabbits...

I have a mini lop. His name is Chewie. He's the most confident, funniest rabbit I've ever had. He flops a LOT. He's also a little beggar when I have treats or greens. Yes, he is fluffier, but he's not fat. I think he weighs five pounds, so a bit more than my other two, who are each...

    Bunny bonding is going well!

I have, but the finances would have to waituntil April or so. Plus, I would feel weird having paid $60for a cage I only used for a month. I suppose I could donateit, but eh...I guess I'm feeling sort of stingy. ;)Would the Humane Society take an extra cage or two?

So is this a good sign?

It seriously rocks. And Chewie didn't even have to fill out an e-Harmony application or anything.

    Bunny bonding is going well!

Oh, I forgot to mention that Zoey's already spoiled. If they're in their respective cages and we come home, they both startYANKING on their cage doors. They know we're going to letthem out, but apparently they can't wait the 2.5 seconds it takes forone of us to cross the room. And Zoey's a...

So is this a good sign?

Aww, thank you!! And yes, the bunny bonding project is going remarkably well.I think we seriously lucked out in finding two bunnies that just adoreeach other and hit it off from the beginning.

Let's try this again - we HAVE a new bunny!!!

You know, I'm not sure. All the WIHumane Society said was that she was a stray who came fromRacine. I assume she was found in Racine while pregnant, gavebirth, and then her and her babies were placed for adoption at the WIHumane Society after they were weaned. I haven't checked lately, but as...

    Bunny bonding is going well!

For those of you who may not know the backstory,we got Chewie, an almost six-month old Holland Lop male (neutered) fromthe Humane Society on January 21st. He weighs about fourpounds. On Friday we got a "young adult" (not sure on age, but she has givenbirth to babies) female American Sable mix...

So is this a good sign?

I didn't get a chance to see thebabies. *sigh* But I think four of them are stillthere, at the one on 40th or whatever and Wisconsin Ave. Keith said they were TINY and really cute. :) And yeah, her fur is sort of brown to gray to whitish toward the back. It's a really pretty streaky kind of...

So is this a good sign?

OH MY GOD! We let her out again, and Chewie was all flopped out on the floor. She came over by him and started LICKING HIS FACE! And he just closed his eyes and enjoyed it. She groomed him for about two minutes. I almost died. I couldn't get the camera on fast enough.

So is this a good sign?

Yeah, he finally mellowed out and just flops out and lays there, relaxed as can be, while she explores. SHE, on the other hand, kept going in HIS cage and drinking hiswater. LOL So we put her in her own cage for somedown, quiet time to relax. Chewie seems very happy, and Zoey has already...

So is this a good sign?

So I finally got done with work and headed to Keith's house. I let Zoey out, and she came right out. For a while Chewie was chasing her, although occasionally they'd sniffeach other. And then I had the idea of putting some VeggieO's out on the ground, and this is the result...

Let's try this again - we HAVE a new bunny!!!

Thanks! And I'm not sure about her incision, as I've been at work all day. :) I will check tonight. The room she and Chewie own (quite literally) is about 10 feet by 10feet, or maybe 12 feet. Think that's too big an area?

Let's try this again - we HAVE a new bunny!!!

Oh boy, we have a hopper!! When Keith first got her home, he let her explore her room for awhile. We have a step aerobic step, and she hopped right uponto it to explore! It took Chewie a month to hop upthere. We're talking maybe eight inches, that's it. Hehe. From the couple of pictures he...

Let's try this again - we HAVE a new bunny!!!

No, not at all! Like I said, I've had bunnies before, but they've always been HollandLops, always been male, and I've never had more than one at a timebefore. So I've read a lot on the bonding, but just like having a new baby, noprep work in the world can totally prepare you foreverything. :)...
