Is This Cage Big Enough for a Flemish Giant?

Not even close on either. The plastic pen would be a chew toy that my rabbit would bat around and leap in and out of just for fun. I bought two XXL wire dog crates and removed a wall panel on each and then joined them together with the original clips to form one huge cage. I have to actually...

HELP! External rabbit tumor disappeared. How??

It was a cyst. They can appear overnight and are impossible to drain with a syringe on a rabbit. My last rabbit Bud developed two on his stomach and I immediately had the vet surgically remove them and send them out analysis. They were white, intact within a sac and not something you want to...

    Dealing with grief and guilt

I think you're looking at things wrong. It appears you gave him six incredible years and went above and beyond taking care of him all the way till the end. No mistakes were made. I also agree with others when it comes to adopting another rabbit. My last rabbit, Bud, died at 14 and I had him...

    Flemish Giant lifespan

10 to 15 years if it's kept inside, interacted with, spayed/neutered and fed a healthy diet. 5 years if it has a dirtbag owner who keeps it penned up outside year round and buys nothing but bargain priced pellets.

Looking for support for dying bunny

Sorry to hear this. I wouldn't give up hope...I know rabbits are prone to bone infections in the jaw and many get through it with proper treatment. Being in a different location shouldn't make much difference. Is your vet still treating the infection with antibiotics?

tell me the truth! - Flemish Giant size

Of course. Roxie is 2 ½ years old and has never so much as dropped one single turd outside the litter box. There was also no training involved. I adopted her from a shelter at 4 months old, gave her a litter box and she simply used it (not normal, so don't expect it to be that easy). My last...

tell me the truth! - Flemish Giant size

Flemish Giants are far more than 10 lbs. If Roxie really stretches out she can touch a doorknob...so about 3' tall.

    Cute heathy rabbit pictures

She's a Flemish Giant. Legs stretched out (like in your pic) is one of her common modes of relaxation.

    Calm, relaxed breed of bunny?

When it comes to easy going, a Flemish Giant is a great choice. Calm and confident but far from boring. Intelligence is also way up there along with impeccable litter box habits. Roxie has an antagonistic sense of humor that I've never seen in any other animal. Only downside is they can hog...

    Earthquakes and Rabbits...

I live in Indiana where earthquakes don't happen often. One night many years ago my last rabbit Jasper went out of his mind. Running around wide eyed and thumping. He was about 9 years old and that was the first and last time I'd ever seen him do the thumping thing. Took about 15 minutes...

    Leg problems

Thanks for the reply. I'm probably going to skip the e. cuniculi test. It's just been one of a few things I've been pondering, especially due to the change in appetite and stretching. I viewed the X-rays myself and the damage is noticeable. The Gabapentin seems to be helping with his...

    Leg problems

Hi everybody. First post here. I have a mixed breed rabbit named Bud. I adopted him through the Indiana HRS back in 2005. Estimated age is between 8 to 10. He's about 8 lbs. He's house broken and allowed free when I'm around. At night and when I'm not at home he lives in a carpeted penned in...
