Jamie won't chew on his peach stick, but the bench out on the back porch has become his fave thing to nibble . the only prob. is that it's an older bench and the paint migt have lead in it. also, mom wants to keep this bench, so him nibblig on it it out of the question. he seems to like the bigger piece of wood, so we were wondering about maybe getting him a piece of untreated lumber. would this work? is there any spesific species that i should look for/stay away from? that's for the help!

We use untreated pine in our hutches and enclosures - the dry boards you would buy at the hardware store don't have any sap or anything in them. They are safe for buns to gnaw on.
