Wood Stove Pellet Question

I went looking for wood stove pellets, and wanted to make sure I was getting ones that were safe for bunny. The guy at the store said most bunny owners he sees buy this one,

Is this one safe? I wasn't sure since it said pine in it, I know they can't have pine shavings, but is this okay in a pellet form?

It appears to be okay, as long as the only thing in the pellets is compressed pine. Sometimes wood stove pellets have some type of fuel starter in the pellet, which you don't want.

Pine pellets are fine, as long as they don't have any additives. These are the ones I use (similar to what you showed): http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/softwood-pellets-0642778p.html#.Vf2A65de4g4. The pellets just turn sort of mushy when the bunnies pee on them, rather than turning into a shaving texture. Not sure if that makes sense.

The one we get is sold at Tractor Supply and is marketed as horse bedding. I like these because you know it's safe for animals
