Is doing it again to Vega

This happened a couple of years ago, we took her to a Vet before we realized what it was. A couple of hundred dollars later. Well anyway people on here suggested things but I forget what they suggested to do or what to put on her. Flashy was very helpful. I have Bag Balm but unfortunately it's outdated 09/04/2008. I do have a zinc based product but don't want to use that as Winston is still licking her. I can't separate them either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

what ever you put on it generally will be ingested, dvm specialist is needed to better diagnose and heal this,,,an exam mayhave veryinteresting-results.//.review of the diet may be an issue..sincerely james waller:wave::rose::bunnydance:

It looks like overgrooming, right? I'd put a bit of neosporin on it, or a new bit of bag balm. I too wouldn't use the zinc product.

If it doesn't go away within a couple of days of applying neosporin, there could be some ringworm going on there.

I don't know how to convince him to stop... Maybe give him a stuffed fluffy toy or fake sheepskin so he can groom that to his heart's content?

I bet it's still ok to use, but I wouldn't use it for too many days--it's probably best to run out and get new when you get a chance. My guess would be that it expiring means that it's not as good at being antibiotic as it used to.

Thanks Claire for your reply. The trouble is I can't find Bag Balm in Canada, Haley picked it up for me and mailed it to me.

OIC. There isn't anything similar? I only started using the real "Bag Balm" stuff a few weeks ago--I've been using something called Udderly Smooth until now. The real stuff is pretty nasty smelling, IMO, and the Udderly Smooth smells ok and does a good job too.

I found Udderly Smooth: http://well.ca/products/udderly-smooth-udder-cream_453.html

Susan, I just found bag balm at my Global Pet Food up here. Maybe you might luck out down there? I also found Benebac :)

We can get udderly smooth at walmart, last I checked.

I'm going to go check at Global Pets. He may order it for me if he can get it. He orders my 50 pounds of pellets for me, I save about $25.00.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Susan

That little stinker! If you cant find it, Susan, I will send you another jar. I would use neosporin in the meantime. Can you separate a little section in their condo so that they can see eachother but Vega can have a break? I did that with Tumnus and Lucy for a few hours every day when he was overgrooming her.
Give my babies kisses from me!
