I found this on Bruce's ear today, I also have been finding the picture of me holding the fur, Ive been finding those on his cheeks. Does he have mites? I also wanted to show a few pictures of my special boy

Looks like dry flaky skin, could be mites. The 1st pic looks like what happens when thers a scab and it falls off and takes a chunk of hair with it. If theres a few small scabs like that another sign it could be fleas/mites. Others will know more.

hmm I've noticed that happen a fare amount on Taffy. (The first picture of a tuft of fur) Every now and then a little clump like that comes from her cheeks.

The pieces around the cheeks appear to be possible normal scent gland secretions built up on the fur or from something else he's rubbed on. Flaking skin can indicate fur mites, bacterial infection, or fungal infection. May want to have a vet investigate further.
