Walter Cronkite passed away yesterday at the age of 92. For those of you who can't remember where you have heard that name, he was on CBS news for 19 years.

Not really a "famous" person, but just a person of note. Read more about him here.

RIP, Mr. Cronkite.

yes i've heard of him and have seen some of his broadcasts - im a history buff:D our news has been showing a montage of his work. personally i think he could teach some of todays' presenters a thing or two. they did mention lyndon b johnson's reference to him which always makes me smile.

there are few of his gravitas on our screens today sadly.

I'm glad I found this thread topic, as I was about to start one, myself.

Walter Cronkite, Bob Barker, and Capt. Kangaroo, were the voices and images that I remember and love most about growing up, in the 1970's. Odd assortment, perhaps :p, but all three were solid, trusted figures in my mind. Still are; always will be. :)
