Can he be switched to feeding in the evening time?

Assuming you're talking about an adult rabbit, he should be fed twice a day. The books say near sunrise & sunset, but I think it works well to make the 2 meals about 12 hours apart. But if you feed less at one meal than the other, the times should be adjusted accordingly.

We feed twice a day. If you give unlimited hay, he should be fine. We do veggies in the morning and evening, hay all the time, and pellets at nite only.

I give pellets in the morning, veggies or fruit at night. Hay ALL day long. My boys do fine with that schedule.

Just remember, any kind of changes, it takes bunnies time to get used to it.
