Hi guys,

I thought I might have read something bad on here about timothycomplete pellets by kaytee. Are they ok to feed to my new bunny? Alsohe is 5 months old. Anything special I should do for him? Like slowlyintroduce different veggies?

Meghan

Timothy Completeis a good pellet.

Usually for younger rabbits, there is a pellet with some alfaalfacontent like Oxbow 15/33 for younger rabbits. I'm not sure if Kayteecarries one.

Yes, at 5 months you can start introducing veggies one at a time, very slowly.

Here's the resource centre article on pellets:

I put this in the other thread, but just in case...what are they feeding him at the shelter?

If its not Timothy Complete, you will need to slowly ease him out ofthe old and into the new. I use Timothy Complete too. Its great.

As Jordiwes said, just ease the veggies in one at a time. We have alist of safe veggies in our resource section, along with feedingguidlines and such.

Good Luck!

Good point, Haley!

Also, be sure to check out the following section aboutPellets. You're going to want to stick to the guidelineswritten regarding percentages of things like protein and fat and suchto be sure your bun is getting the proper nutrition.

Also, check out the other things on that last site (Carrot Cafe) formore information regarding food in general. Good site!

Also, check out the House Rabbit Society's info on feeding...they're a very good site as well:
