Crystal had her first dental on Friday she had a follow up appointment yesturday and the vet said her gums were still quite swallon i just wanted to know if this is normal? ive never had a rabbit who needed a dental before so im new to all this :?is there any chance of tooth root abcesses?

Was it on her back teeth? if so then maybe they were a bit vigourous when they took the spurs off. I would just keepan eye if she is eating fine and pooing fine then hopefully its just been teh work they have done.

What exactly was done? If it was an extraction, there can be swelling for several days. If it was a float....there really should be only limited swelling if any at all. And some type of abscess is always a possibility. I think we need some more information here to help you. Exactly what was done and why....any meds?....another follow up with the vet?
