Ok, so I was going thru my rabbit food this last weekend and realized that I haven't bought pellets in too long. I know, I know. I bought a big ten-pound bag for Erik, and since he's been switched from pellets everyday to only 3x a week, I haven't been going thru them nearly as quickly. So It's been about seven-eight months since I bought that bag, and I'm thinking I should probably throw it out...I feel pretty bad. They're probably stale or something, though they don't really smell any different. Probably aren't getting any vitamins or minerals from them, they've probably degraded. Isn't it six months? Well I guess I haven't gone too far over then.

Oh...I'd gotten a bag of Oxbow when I got Sofia, so I had just mixed some of the Timothy Complete in there and had been feeding them that. That's another reason I hadn't been going thru it.

But I'm nearing the end of the Oxbow pellets and was wondering about Sweet Meadow Farm pellets (timothy based ones.) I already have oodles of Sweet Meadow hay shipped in every month (Yeah I spend about $60 a month on my rabbits...) and was wondering about their pellets. I really just don't care much for the Timothy Complete. No idea why, really. I have gotten a bit irritated with Kaytee. I liked the Oxbow pellets, thought they were good. But I do really like Sweet Meadow Farms and was curious if anyone uses their pellets, and if they're satisfied.

I use Sweet Meadow pellets and hay and I love them both. When my order doesn't come in time, I give Kaytee for a couple days and their fur always seems to shed more and look rough. It may be a coincidence but I think Sweet Meadow is better quality.

I have good success with SweetMeadow Farm hay & pellets.
I use the Timothy pellets for my adults and the Timothy/Alfalfa for the little guys.
My buns really enjoy it, and their coats are looking very nice.

Just ordered some hay from them (which I have been doing)and there service is always so prompt.

I don't have any suggestions for pet pellets, I buy 50 lb. bags. lol

But I did want to add that pellets are only good for about 3-4 months. Feeding them any older can have devastating effects. I know a breeder who accidently fed 6 month old pellets and lost half her herd! So make sure it is fresh and only buy about 3 months worth at a time.

howdy from washington state, usa,.i use orchard/timothy grass $18.00 bales, purina rabbit chow 50#bag$18.00,..i don,t feed my buns too much pellets,,. in their diet-70% fiber, one ounce per pound of rabbit for pellets, and some daily greens,..helps keep the visits low to the distant dvm specialist,..sincerely james waller

I use Sweet Meadown hay and pellets. I am fortunate to live down the street from where their pellets are made and I know Al personally. My bun seems to enjoy them and they have less alfalfa than your typicall "store bought" pellets. Their hay is great too! Love the "with herbs timothy" !!

Hey all- thanks for your responses. I think I'm going to order some of the Sweet Meadow pellets. My buns already get the timothy with herbs hay and they go NUTS for it!

Not the worst, but if I had a choice, I wouldn't use them mainly because the ingredients are all supplements or by-products, but I definitely wouldn't use the guinea pig or hamster food.
