My bunny has a runny nose but he doesnt have runny eyes or anything. He did sneeze a little. Could that be snuffles? He has a good appetite and is quite active- a little more active than usual. He also does have red, itchy ears again.. probably mites. Is this urgent??? The coronavirus situation is quite serious where i live so im hesitant to really go out.. let alone bring my bun out! Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks!

Snuffles is an umbrella term that's not very specific and really only informs someone that a rabbit is actively sneezing really. There are many things that can cause a rabbit to sneeze, so if frequent and especially if paired with colored nasal discharge, it is best to have your rabbit assessed by a rabbit-experienced exotic vet for proper treatment guidance. The majority of things that would cause sneezing (i.e., anything outside environmental irritants) will not resolve on their own and will likely get worse without treatment. This also means that in most cases, the earlier you begin treatment, the cheaper it may be (i.e., treating a severe URI is likely to take longer and more meds than one in its early stages). Since it's not possible to know what is causing your rabbit's sneezing, having a vet see your rabbit is important.

Separately, yes, your rabbit should be assessed for his red and itchy ears. It can be mites, and it is not recommended to attempt at-home treatment without veterinary consult/guidance.

Yes, I am planning to get my bunny’s ears checked out. It happened a few times already so I’m not surprised. Thanks for the info.
