Sore eye

I noticed this morning that they my rabbit has got a sore eye i was wondering if he has got a eye infection his eye looks wet and sticky any ideas before we take him to the vets. Thanks

I have been bathing it in cool water but doesn't seem to be helping him at all any ideas it's in the corner of his eye x

is it just runny? Warm tea bags can help.

Yes it is but it's sticky as well around the corner of his eye I will upload a picture later can't at the moment x

It sounds like it could be infected, or it may just be runny. Are you seeing any white discharge? It's possible there is something irritating the eye. You could try using a sterile saline solution to clean it out to see if that helps, otherwise you'll want to get it checked by your vet.

It would probably be better using warm water on a cloth, when trying to clean up the fur around his eye.

what the tea bag does is the tea is an astrigent (a mild cleanser) that helps to heal if there are any minor abrasions or other such issues going on. Also has nothing in it that will damage the eye. Tea bags are soft and easy.

Thanks for all of the advice it is looking better this morning so might not need to go to the vets x
