Hey everyone, I am hoping that you can pray for my Snowball and hope for her to
get better. Tuesday night I had to take her to the emergency because she
appeared to have bad gas and stopped eating. This all happened really fast! One
minute she was eating her dandelion leaves, the next minute she was laying on
her side with her head hanging out over the side of the litterbox. She also kept
keeping her tummy flat and sprawled out because it seemed to be bothering her.
She was very restless. Simethicone did not help this time-gave her a couple
doses. She was very restless and appeared to be in pain. At the ER they took her
vitals and her temp was only 95 degrees...it's supposed to be at least 100. I am
lucky I didn't lose her because of this. They kept her in the incubator, gave
fluids, and she was eating a little but could not maintain her body
temperature.X rays did not show anything abnormal and not even much gas. Why would her temp be so low?

When I transferred her to Parkway Wed morning to hospitalize her for monitoring
her there, her temp had dropped down to 98 again. She was not really eating much
either. She appears to be in a lot of pain. They gave her motility drugs and
pain meds. : reglan, cisapride, and buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is the pain med narcotic, and don't narcotics make you constipated? She currently is having difficulty going to the bathroom, seems like she is straining and has very few small poops.

I was so upset and thinking that I was going to lose her and she
wouldn't be able to come home with me.I was able to bring her home last nite
even though her temp stayed stable for a while after the incubator again but was
98 again right before I brought her home. She has been eating a little (not
enough)-having trouble getting the Critical Care down her because she is not
swallowing it.Eating a bit of hay, lettuce and pellets. I'm trying to tempt her
with things she loves, including alfalfa hay...just to get her system moving!
Her poops are really small and not many. She needs to start eating and pooping
more! She is alert and seems like she wants to be herself, and will beg for
treats but not always eat them. I am waiting for results for blood work and of
course this whole time I am thinking all the worst things. The night and day
went by soo slow for me. I woke up last nite and wrapped her in a blanket
snuggling with her on the couch and making sure she stayed warm.

I don't know what I would do if I lost her...she means so much to me and we have
such a special bond. I love her so much, and I am so happy I at least got to
bring her home. She is definitely not out of the woods yet...we have to figure
out what is causing her pain. She is only 2 years old and has been through so
much. So if everyone could pray and send good vibes her way I would appreciate
it. Will keep you posted. If anyone has any ideas or input, would also be appreciated, as we don't know what's going on. They think stasis is secondary condition.

Praying for her. Sorry I can't offer too much help-I'm not sure what would be causing this.

Since she might still be having trouble keeping her temperature up, give her something warm to snuggle with. If you put dry rice in a sock, tie it, and microwave it a little, it will be a nice heating pad. Snuggle Safes, plastic discs used as microwaveable heating pads for animals, last even longer and are sold in some pet stores. A rice sock is fine for short-term and emergency use, I didn't break down and buy a Snuggle Safe until I was raising a sickly orphaned baby bun. I'm really glad to have it around the house now, though.

I hope she gets better soon, poor little bun. I will pray for you both  hugs and kisses to Snowball from me and Rocky
