Snapchat-467835088.jpg hi I am posting this because I need help with a litter that is about a week and a half old, the White and the black babies are the normal size the black and white smaller one is the one I'm concerned about. We are worried we're hoping he's not a peanut rabbit. The thing is this his ears are longer than all the others although he is much smaller I also posted a picture of the Father which is a dwarf lion head with black hair. Thank you all the help would be appreciated we want this cute little bunny to make it!

It doesn't sound like a peanut. Peanuts have pointy shorter than normal ears, a dome shaped head, and underdeveloped hindquarters. Plus peanuts don't usually live past a week old. With this bunny having longer than normal ears, it sounds like it's a runt. It could possibly have a different congenital defect causing it's smaller than normal size.

Nice rabbits! I had two lion head rabbits. My female was a buff color and unfortunately only lasted until age five. She had bone cancer in her jaw. This was terribly expensive to find out her tear duct was not working and this was why. Cancer.. then I just lost my male right after Christmas last year and he was 8 and a half years old! He just all of a sudden had some sort of stroke. And he died almost instantly. I took both rabbits to get teeth trimmed every six months to a special vet in dallas who did dental work for rabbits. That was 130.00 a pop. Plus if a tooth was wappyjar and had to be removed that cost more. I think a lot of people do not realize you need the dental twice or three times a year. And my male had gurgling tummy noises so baby gass drops helped and the best thing for make ng sure your rabbit poops well is a special gut mixture you can get from your rabbit vet you mix with water and you have to feed it to your rabbit every four hours. It smells like licorice. It is used for reptiles too. This stuff does work in 24 hours. It will save you the expence of a three hundred dollar stomach ex ray. I can not remember the name of it but it is a high fiber mix and you have to figure out how much water to put so it is not too watery and not to thick. My rabbit likes it.i used a really big syringe. Having these two rabbits for five years together was heart breaking when the female died. I had to buy a stuffed toy lion head rabbit to keep my male happy. He actually groomed it and after a few months he was ok. I do have other animals that missed the 4abbits too. I had to show them when I lost them so they would not look for them. They had thier own room in my house and sat on the ottoman in my living room when I watched tv at night. I do miss them and had no idea how expensive these two rabbits would cost to maintain for almost nine years. I had both cremated and they are together in a beautiful urn in my pet room. I am retired from the army so I had a lot of time to care for them and even took them to Colorado one time on vacation. I have a lot of experience with them so if anyone needs help with caring for little lion head rabbits please ask me. Besides brushing them twice a day during shearing, they were very easy to keep happy. And they would stand up and box the cat if he bothered them. That was really funny. I am still grieving for them but try to stay busy

Thank you so much for lifting our hearts with facts that have positivity! I sure hope so! I'm checking to see if we have pictures of them as newborns. He was always more wrinkled and smaller, fed belly, but wrinkled and small. I'll attach some pics..okay so in these pictures he is the more wrinkled pink and black smaller baby. And the last pic is him now....
