Another breeder was looking at my rabbits while we were at Nationals and she was concerned about one of them. I was told it is a sable point - we now wonder a bit about sable point marten instead (although it doesn't have white on the bottom of the tail, etc).
Her concern was that the rabbit might have the "roaning gene" which is rare in rabbits but you can see it in horses. I've tried to do some research on this but can't find much information...does anyone know anything about this?
The breeder has bred for many years and has had this happen a couple of times ... but said it is VERY rare (in rabbits)Â to her knowledge..
