I'm sorry to post another topic already in the same place but I really need help, for that pen I'm going to be making I was going to buy a hutch but have been told and realized that I could get a lot bigger one for a lot less if I make it myself rather than buy the smaller over 100$ one I was going to buy, my mom and I are going to be building it ourselves going to Homedepot this Saturday, does anyone have easy to follow plans on how to make one and what we will need to get? Maybe with pictures if possible? Thank you for any help!

http://rabbithutchplans.net/ here's a link for plans and instruction. U ideally need a solid bottom as wires can hurt feet, a solid roof to sun proof, and it would ideally be 4 times the rabbit in length and 2 times in width. I know this may not be possible but its ideal. Use untreated wood in case it chews it also.

Also sealant sealant sealant! I'm building an indoor hutch and I've sealed everything, even the stuff I am covering with linoleum, that way I won't EVER have to do this again due to water damage(fingers crossed) because it is VERY time consuming.

But also very rewarding. Mine is 6ft long by 30" high by 28" wide and cost a total of $165. Which is roughly twice the size of a cage I saw for $150 plus shipping. SO WORTH IT.

Good luck with your building c:

I prefer wire on my cages/hutches, with resting mats for them. It's so much easier to keep them clean, and to disinfect everything. Wood floors absorb all the bacteria and urine, and wood is almost impossible to get the smell of ammonia out of.

Here are some free plans. The first one is my template, but I'm going to change some things around (since they'll be in the barn, I don't need a solid roof...and I want to stack them 3 high, and have the fronts swing down). Anyway, it looks fairly simple to change things to the way you want them to be, or build them as they're shown.

Thank you everyone!

Fantaysah: Thank you, I will do my best to get that size, I'm going to try and make it as big as possible

Nelsons_mom: Thank you :)

Wendymac: Thank you again! The last link is very helpful :) but the first one won't open for some reason? It says "
Sorry, the website www.rabbadwordow.com NUTRITIONMANAGEMENT ECMD2 0024687.aspx cannot be found"

OMG!

OKAY! Not sure why it's changing it when I make it a link. Take out the space after the www. part and after rabbit and chow and it'll work. Geesh! It's changing rabbit chow, and I'm not sure why.

Wow! That's too funny! LOL Even after you explained it, I'm like, "How in the world does rabbit chow make a bad word." Then, finally, the lightbulb went off. haha
