My female rabbit who is spayed has recently started burrowing ALOT ..... what does it mean? How can I make a safe burrowing environment? She lives indoors all the time so going outside isnt an option ..... any advice?

make a dig box. basically just a box you fill with (i think people on here use newspaper and shredded phone books). hopefully , that might help. Mine went through the same thing about 3 weeks after she was spayed. She was even pulling out her hair and building a nest. I thought we were getting a miracle litter of baby bunnies, but nothing ever came of it

A dig box is a great choice. I put some of her hay, paper, added a few pellets to dig around for and eat. Along with chew sticks and the odd dried banana chip to really encourage her to dig around.

Can anyone say "spoiled"? :p

(It's a mix of topsoil, hardwood mulch and green sand; I used non-toxic tempera paint powder to dye the sand)
