My bunny started pulling out the fur from his tail a few days ago and now it's at a point where a large portion of his tail has no fur at all. I haven't seen him eat the fur instead I've seen little patches of fur sticking around. Causes and solutions???

Could be a skin problem like mites, or there could be nerve or spinal problems causing your rabbit to react to the discomfort. Solutions would be treating for mites if that is the cause. Or if spinal/nerve issue, having your experienced rabbit vet diagnose and treat the issue.
MediRabbit (fur mites)
MediRabbit (burrowing mites)

Also the possibility it's a boredom or anxiety issue.
