Hello, I was wonderingbecause on the references thing Carolyn had there were no Dutch Lopsand the women that i bought two of my rabbits from she said that theywere Dutch Lops and they are bigger. I have no clue and ihave never heard of them so i have no clue?

Robert

There is no such breed as far as know. Perhaps she meant they were mixed breeds between some sort of lop and a Dutch.

Dutches areusually black and white or like a red and white if i'm notmistaking? The male is white with grey spots and the femaleis white with brown spots. The male is the father of her andthe mother was pure brown almost like cottontail color. theother female she was selling was all silver and they both have thereears completley down.:?

Perhaps they area Mini Lop or a HollandLop then, it's hard to say without a picture! As I said before, theycould also be mixed breeds. :)

How much do they weigh? Holland Lops are in the 3-4 lb. range.

Our USHolland Lop is also known as the "Dutch" Lop orNederlandse Hangoor Dwergen,as it originated in theNetherlands. When the Holland was first introducedto this country, it was called the Netherland Dwarf Lop. Insome countries (UK), the Holland Lop is known as the MiniLop. Our Mini Lop in the US weighs an average of 4-6 lbs.

Could very well be Minis. The chestnut(top photo) and broken chinchilla (bottom) are far more commonvarieties in the Minis, although not rare in the Hollands.

Kool maybe they are but i have no clue and thetwo other lops that i bought that i was told were french lops Pam justtold me that they are not they are minis. O well i was justthinking and Pam said that French lops are over 10 pounds and have longears so they prolly aren't but they could be part because the grey oneis the father and the mother was a LARGE rabbit so they might bepart.

Thanks Robert:cool:

Yes, it's the French that are 10+. Theydo have a large, wide ear -- although the length pales in comparison tothat of the English Lop with an ear span of over 21 inches!
