I’m planning to schedule to get Opal spayed soon, but before I schedule I wanted to make sure that I’m fully prepared.

- Should I get one of jacket things in case she starts messing with her stitches (is the chance high enough to warrant it)?

- Are the any parts of the care that are different from post-neuter care? (I’ve already cared for two bucks during post-neuter care.)

- How long should she be on cage rest?

I've never needed one, but if your rabbit won't leave the incision alone, you'll sure wish you had it I think.

Girl rabbits usually don't bounce back as quickly since it's a more invasive surgery. It can sometimes take a whole day or longer, for them to get back to normal, and they need longer to recover, 10-14 days restricted activity usually.

If your vet is any good, they should give all these instructions to you, as well as what post surgery complications to look out for.
