There is a large wild cherry tree over the cage where my new bunny will be and the leaves always blow off of it and into the cage. The bunny will be able to eat them and I wanted to know if they were poisonous. Thanks!:)

All the information I've found suggests that plants of the Prunus genus (to which cherries belong) are toxic, with the exception of the fruit itself (but do not feed the pits).

The leaves of cherry trees actually contain cyanide. The cyanide is even more concentrated if the leaves are wilted, so that is where the real danger lies.

I would try to cover the cage with a finer mesh or something like that to limit access to the leaves.

Would it be ok to just sweep the leaves out of the cage everyday or a couple of times a day?
