Good morning to all rabbit's friends.
Yesterday I found one of my rabbits with pododermatitis.
Immediately, I took him to live in the house and I put him a pamper.
Treatment we are giving him 1 cc of Baytril by injection and for the feet we clean with iodopovirone, we dry and put neomicin and zinc-bacitracin cream, and
after, the bendage.
My question It si not better instead of the cream, to use some antibiotics in powder like tetracyclin, sulfa trimetoprim, cloramfenicol or penicillin to dry the ulcer?
If someone could help me with his personal experience, I would be very grateful.
Thanks

Anaotilia

If you mean sore hocks, then your bun should be fine. Don't use any medicine without first checking with a RELIABLE source to see if it is rabbit safe. I've heard that penicillin is bad for bunnies.

When my rabbit had sore hocks, the vet gave me wipes to clean the area and ointment. What you're doing should be fine. Take him to the vet if you're worried.
