Volunteers are needed to fill out a Pet Rabbit Health Information Survey. Debby Widolf (former manager of Rabbits at Best Friends) and I have joined forces again in order to promote this survey, which I designed with input from veterinarians, shelter/rescue workers, and others involved in rabbit caretaking. It is our hope that the survey results, which will be made available online for all interested parties to view, will provide valuable information to both veterinarians and those who give daily care to rabbits.
Unlike the long-term HRS Rabbit Health Database Project, the purpose of this survey is not to compile specific, detailed information on the treatment of diseases. Rather, it is a complementary survey designed to identify correlations between specific rabbit parameters and diseases (remembering that correlation does not imply cause/effect).
You can download the survey (in a printable PDF or online Word document) at: http://rabbitwriter.synthasite.com/rabbitsurvey.php
Any person who is a member of a rabbit organization or has a personal rabbit website is encouraged to include the downloadable survey on their website.
Please, help us help rabbits! We are asking all rabbit organizations, shelters, rescues, and others involved with rabbits to participate and help us collect the massive amounts of data that will make this study a success. If every person who has rabbits would fill out the survey for at least one rabbit, we would be able to reach our goal.
