penning to male rabbits next to each other

Well I have a liitle shock, my new Zealand who is due to get neutered next wee is a boy not a girl as I thought, he doesn't like to be picked up so I don't hence not knowing that she is a he, but last night I though I better check and found out my answer complete with bits,
So I now have 1 neutered male and 1 unneutered male who is due to get done next Friday, I want them to bond and have there pens next to each other so they can smell see each other, I just want to know if this arrangement is ok with two males ?

I would just have a bit of distance so there is no chance of attacking through the wire. They can do a surprising amount of damage to each other by just chomping on to noses.

...ears, too. I had a sibling take a piece of ear from his brother through the wire once.

Ours are separated by about 3 inches--never had any one get bitten in the last 10 years.
