I had the strangest thing happen tonight!
I was fostering my rejected kits (only two remain
had to put the runt down yesterday, too weak) off their dam today. I stimulated the bigger one with a Q-tip and cleaned up some excess (pee's like a horse). I set the Q-tip aside when the doe sniffs it...then starts licking it.
Really, really, intently. She's all about the pee'd on Q-tip.
A few moments before, I could barely get her to sit still. All of a sudden, she's so focused on these 'pee sticks' that she completely ignores me. Even cleaned one of the kits herself! From 'GOAWAYI'MGRUMPY' to 'SUPER BUNNY MOTHER 2011'
I foresee an awesome, mothering-instinct stimulator in my future. It's all about the Q-tips!
