In New Zealand, the common pratcice is to use hay over newspaper for litter, which I do.
Normally we get enough newspapers in the mail, but recently our paper boy has been slack.
Once a week when you put out your trash and recycling here, you can also stick out a pile of any cardboard or newspapers you have for the 'paper-chase' too.
Uhuh! A brainwave came over me. Why not just grab some of next-doors newspapers? I toddled over there last week on Wednesday at 6am to grab the neatly wrapped pile. It sat in my garage until last night, when I remembered it was there and I needed some paper.
Off I go downstairs and bring it up to the lounge, and the bottom half of the stack comes undone and what should tumble to the floor, but a bunch of well-read adult magazines!
:embarrassed:
I wasn't sure whether to feel more embarrassed for myself, or that nice elderly man next door .
I'm sure the rabbits will really appreciate the extra reading material, but I'll be sure to ask before I go taking someone elses trash again!
