Good Day Everyone,

Have a bit of an issue with Sparrow and her new NIC condo, I don't have pics yet, but built the exact same one as on rabbitcondos site and she made her way up to the top, but won't move from there.

I am unsure if she is afraid of going down or not, plus is it that she is too small she is almost twelve weeks and a holland lop.

Will she ever move from there and explore? :bigtears:

:yeahthat:
Let her explore a bit first and if you notice this again see if you could some food or something on the lower level to entice her down. Some rabbits will take a long time going down. Let her get use to you holding her then ketting her *very close to the ground* jump out of your arms. She'll get use to jumping down a bit more every day. Hopefully it will clear up quickly, you know shes scared if she'll hover over the edge and contemplate jumping down more than 3-5 times. Most rabbits will have worked up the nerve by then.
Hope this helps! :)

Some rabbits might not realize they can go up and down on their own. So you may need to show her how to do it.
First make sure there is good traction on the levels. Rabbits don't like to slide around and are more comfortable if there is traction. Fleece or towels are good, you may need to find a way to hold them in place. Something with a rubber backing can work too if she won't chew it.
When she is on a level, put you hands behind her and tickle her bum to get her to move forward. Use your hands to guide her to down to the next level. This shows her how to do it and she can learn to do it on her own. It may take a few times and you might need to do it for each level. It is important to not just place her on a level as she won't learn how to go up and down on her own.
You can try to entice her to use the different levels by having different things on each level. In the big cage I have, the litter box and hay is on the bottom, the middle level has pellets and water and the top is where they get veggies. Toys are on the top 2 levels and they tend to lay around most on the middle one. The door they use to come out of the cage is on the bottom level so they can come and go as they want when the door is open.
