This is the first time I've heard about this and I'm outraged!!! On the streets of downtown Los Angeles very young--not far from newborn--baby bunnies are being sold (illegally) to innocent but ignorant folks that walk the streets. These sellers intentions are obvious... profit off the "cute" factor baby bunnies have and make a quick buck. No compassion or interest in the animals welfare. This is so disturbing and angers me so greatly that I cant see straight. They are placed in tiny cages in the middle of the streets so people will fall in love and make an impulse buy. They feed them pellets and veggies and instruct those that purchase the poor babies to do the same.... HELLO?! Is not common sense that all baby mammals need to drink milk?! I sure thought it was!

:soapbox

Bunny World Foundation is really working hard to get this cruelty to stop. Visit there website at http://www.bunnyworldfoundation.org

I urge everyone to also check out this link to help stop the illegal sale of these baby bunnies. http://www.bunnyworldfoundation.org/help-advocacy-efforts

this is so sad

and i am extremly upset by this, who could be so cruel? and honestly who could be so blind as to buy one of these little guys?

ug, people make me so mad sometimes

This makes me so mad, poor babies!
Plus, how stupid would you have to be to actually buy one? It's kind of obvious that they aren't ready to go. Even if you had never even had a bunny before.

Sick! That makes me so upset. There is something seriously wrong with people in this world.

That one vendor knew what she was doing is wrong, otherwise she wouldn't have any issue talking to reporters. I wonder if they have any remorse for the lives they take.

Poor little babies :cry2 I'm glad they cared enough to do a news piece about it. I couldn't hear the video (speaker problems) but I'm assuming the news person was against selling tiny baby bunnies.

Ahh those poor little critters, Did you see that woman who wouldn't talk, The kits didn't even have there eyes open!

Grr!

That's disgusting.

It's unfortunate that people are not willing to educate themselves before investing in rabbits, or in any pet. If the baby bunnies weren't selling, then the vendors wouldn't have them.

You get that here, as well. Easter is nothing much newly hatched baby chickens, ducks and 2-3 week old baby rabbits. It honestly does not suprize me, it does not mean it does not make me feel sick but I have saw it many times in person and even tried to rescue some of them.
