I'm wondering if anyone has anymore information about them. AllI could find was this one site. I've heard mention of them but untilnow that was all.We are still in the researching phase ofthem but boy Jeremy loves them.

Gorgeous! They are just Dutch rabbits in theharlequin variety. So you just need to research the Dutch breed. Thevariety however is not accepted in that color, so it cannot be shown.

If you really like the harlequin color, there is a harlequin breed. Here is a link to the specialty site:http://www.geocities.com/~harlies/.

I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect rabbits!

If you are showing at fairs, then I *think* you can show the harlequindutch there, if it is not an ARBA sanctioned show. I am not positive onthat one though. I should ask the 4-H leaders at the next meeting. Ifso, that would be a wonderful thing for him to do.. showing is such awonderful hobby. :)

90% of the shows around here aren't ARBAsanctioned. Jeremy has shown Apollo and won. The showing bug tookhold;)and he wants something a bit more managable than theFlemish. I will dfinitely be on the look out.

That's awesome, way to go Jeremy and Apollo! I sure know what you meanabout the "show bug". Once you start you can't stop. ;)I wishyou the best of luck in finding some rabbits. Be sure to keep usupdated on the search. ;)

Show Bug...whatever. It's a cool Rabbit, Tina.

Pamnock would be the one and only to ask about this breed and where to find it or how it's represented in shows..

If you want to get into showing, Pam's your expert. Forget about the rest, go straight to The Best. ;)

Carolyn, you have a point.

I'm hoping Dr.Pam can help give us some more information andpoint us in the right direction. Thank you very much.

Tina & Jeremy & Apollo

ps Doc Pam will be flying in soon;)

I love harlequins also. I have my heart set on a black japanese Holland Lop for my next rabbit... :D

Bob Whitman's website page that Tina postedcovers the info on the Harle Dutch very wellhttp://www.rarebitsandpieces.com/harlequindutch.htmI'd contact him to see if he knows of any breeders in the US thatcurrently have them.

Also, check out the yahoo harle dutch grouphttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/HarlequinDutchRabbit/

They are not currently ARBA sanctioned, but can currently be exibitedwith the show secretary's permission and a copy of the standard.(Without an approved first showing and official working standard, theshow is not under obligation to allow you to show non-accepted breeds).

4-H counties all go by different rules, but many follow ARBA guidelinesand put non-accepted varieties in the "utility or pet" class.Others disregard the variety and instruct the judge to evaluate on typeonly.

I'm not certain what the current certificate of development status ison the harle Dutch -- but the correct pattern is very difficult toobtain, and earning status in the ARBA would be quite a challenge. (I'msure they'll have more info on the Yahoo list that I mentioned above.)

Thank You Very Much!

Wow. So you mean theres a NEW breed of a rabbit?Since it wont show me the pictures for some reason, please tell me whatcolor they are.

Can you see the link? If you click onit it will take you to a website that I got thepictures off of.

The look like a standard Dutck. But where the black etc wouldbe is Harlequin markings instead. It's a dark brown and lighter brownstriping. Really very eye catching.

From what I've been reading it's been around awhile. They aretrying to get it ARBA Sanctioned. You can show them because the colorisn't accepted yet.

I wish you could see them.
