I was really pleasantly happy and surprised with this litter. Tillie (black tort, out of a black and a tort) is a first-time mom and had THREE kits, all healthy and beautiful, no peanuts or runts. Dad is Jeffrey, a blue out of two opals.

But, it appears that there are two blues of varying degrees and one black in the litter. I don't understand how the blues are there...Tillie has NO blue in her pedigree. And I was told that black tort was very dominant, and practically trumped everything else! So I thought, well, this is a cinch (finally!)--I'll probably get blacks and black torts and, perhaps if there is a genetic miracle and Tillie feels like giving me a thrill, a blue tort.

What's confusing me is that both blues are not the same color exactly, one is more silver than the other. And, they both have little area of pink skin around their nose. Any ideas? :)
