New bunny

Hi,
My name is Jess and I am new to Rabbits Online. I've also just gotten a second bun in my life, Pickles (still in the process of naming.) Pickles is a young grey Lion Head rabbit and we aren't sure yet whether they are a boy or a girl! The cage I'm currently using is a All Living Things, Small Animal Condo Multi-Level Habitat and an X-pen floor set up. I am hoping pickles will be able to climb the slopes that go to each level but if he cant I will make it hop accessible! Each level is lined with fleece or care fresh, but Pickles has been staying on the second floor with the litter box, water, and food. Hoping Pickles warms up to me soon, I feel so blessed to have this little bun in my life. Going to work on trust tomorrow!

Excited to share my experiences in this forum! If anyone has any good trust gaining techniques please feel free to let me know!

Hi, welcome to the forum,
and congrats on your new bunny,

Give your bunny some space, but make sure she/he’s eating,
also if you haven’t already offered a hidey house (you can use a cardboard box with 2 holes cut through it, to give bunny a place to hide.

I love Lennon The Bunny, I get so many helpful tips from that channel.

Lorelei mentions it in this video and I found sharing food, or just hand feeding them worked for me really well.

I tried the laying on the floor thing, but they weren’t remotely interested in me. I’d be laying on the floor for ages waiting for them to come over and inspect me and they would just hop past me and take themselves off for a nap. Completely mugged off, they only want me when I have food

Right, I think it’s wonderful that she has a YouTube channel because it even if all of the things aren’t 100% accurate, it lets people realize that rabbits need lots of space to roam and that they are just as important as other animals

Edit: use carefresh in only the litter box not the entire enclosure.
As it can confuse bunny on were to go.
