Hey guys,
It's been a long time since I have posted on here. I am getting really close to getting Einstein neutered.I went to this vet and he has experience with rabbits and has a good reputation and a state of the art OR. I am just worried he is charging $250. I was wondering if this is too expensive or should I shop around? Thanks!

That is a bit high, but not unheard of. Some vets do charge more than others based on their costs. You can try shopping around, but still need a rabbit savvy vet.

I think it really depends on where you live. Here in Vancouver we got it done for $135, plus $65 for a mandatory pre-checkup. I thought the neutering price was fair compared to what we paid for our cats, though the checkup price was a bit much imo. But yeah, I heard prices differ greatly depending on where you live. No harm in shopping around though and trying to get the best price, as long as it's still a rabbit savvy vet :) Good luck!

That price is the going rate around here in La Crosse Wi at the more rabbit savvy vets. I would go with the vet that you think is the most experienced if you can pay it. Some vets use laser surgery and glue on testicles..very easy recovery (usually)

My Vet is a rabbit specialist of over 20 years and services a large metro area. She charged about that for my buck, a bit more for my doe, but I felt completely confident in her. My rabbits came through perfectly and has no issues through the process of convalescence.

I paid 120 for Black Jack's neuter and that seems to be the best price around. I had to drive to a clinic an hour away but they were worth it since they were good with rabbits. There was one closer to me but they wanted considerably more. It still ended up costing me about 250 because BJ had an abscess I didn't know about so they did that at the same time. I think it really depends on your location the type of clinic you go to. That price doesn't seem out of the question.

Pricing depends on location. We've seen it as high as 400 in California and as low as 125 for a female. One of our rescues was done in Arizona for 55 which is the least we have heard of. Ask a rescue outfit as they may have someone good and less expensive.

It's only around $50 here in Ontario, that's insane. That's for neutering that is.
