BC15FB45-17D2-472E-8558-79DF8DEB3FE0.jpeg Hello! Just a few minutes ago I noticed that my rabbit left this on my floor. A while ago she pooped big feces with some mucus but it had never looked like this. Should I take her to the vet? Does anyone know what could be the reason of this?
She eats and drinks water normally, by the way. And I’ve noticed she sleeps more often than usual I think but it could be just me not paying enough attention before and she’s always been like this. However, she is still active, running around and doing binkys but I do think she’s become a little more lazy lately.
Thank you!

If it hasn't stopped and the poops aren't normal now, then if you have an experienced rabbit vet that you can take your rabbit to(not just a normal cat and dog vet as they may not know the safe medications for rabbits), I would suggest doing that.

If you don't have an experienced rabbit vet to go to, then I would remove any pelleted food, sugary food, and grains/carbs, and I would free feed(never runs out, refreshed daily) medium coarse(mix of leaf and stalks) grass hay only and water, and nothing else. Good quality(no mold, no noxious weeds) grass hay helps correct digestive issues in rabbits. When feeding hay only, it's very important to monitor how much is consumed to make sure your rabbit is eating the hay very well and maintains a healthy weight, so you should also check your rabbits weight every day for weight loss.

The disease is called mucoid enteritis or mucoid enteropathy and is a critical disease in rabbits that can be fatal. If it was just a minor amount and isn't reoccurring, then there is a good chance your rabbit will be ok and it was just a minor upset from something she ate. But if the mucous/gel continues then the disease is much more serious.

Thank you! I took her to the vet and he gave her a shot, he also dewormed her and said that should be it and she seems fine now. She’s been popping normally.
Thank you again :)
