Blue doe crossed with tort buck. I ended up with

3 blues and 2 white. Or so I thought. Now rust colored spots are appearing on the whites. Any idea what color this is?

That does not mean to say that they can't carry the broken gene from their parents.

To have a broken baby one parent must be a broken. Is there any way the doe could have bred with a different buck? Looks like a broken to me but time will tell or maybe better pictures

That is what I thought. I only have one buck and one doe. So there's no way she was bred to any other buck. He is tort, no broken and she's solid blue. Both white kits have light brown spotting showing up. I will try to get a better picture tomorrow afternoon. Oh, and I have had the doe since she was a kit.

Well there you go, always more to learn :p

Might be time to do a complete thorough check of both parents? Perhaps there's only a tiny amount of white on one of them somewhere that's not obvious?

All of the pictures I have of mom are in bad lighting, but she's a typical solid blue mini rex. : https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/t1.0-9/1795657_824651267547210_947504554_n.jpg , Mom as a baby: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd....1.0-9/1010999_801395959872741_871371719_n.jpg

And dad, (that isn't a white marking on his forehead it's some fur sticking to his head): https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/t1.0-9/1911714_816002721745398_1207317344_n.jpg

I'll get better pictures of the babies tonight after I get off work. Thank you everyone for your input so far!

It doesn't matter what the parents look like. It's all in its background. We bred a black with a broken lilac and we ended up with a blue, broken lilac and 2 broken chocolates. Looked at the background and found there was chocolates way back.

It does matter if the parents are solid. From what I can understand two solid rabbits only pass on the solid pattern. Here is more info and from what I can gather it is genetically impossible to get broken babies from two solid parents even if the solids carry it the solid form will always be more dominant
